This dashboard shows the growth of Bolivia’s registered vehicle fleet from 2003 to 2025 and of conversions to compressed natural gas (CNG) since 2010, with the official tables of the National Institute of Statistics by department, type of service, class, engine displacement and model year.
- The fleet grew 6.0-fold between 2003 and 2025, from 443,888 to 2,672,176 vehicles, and rose 3.4% in the last year.
- Santa Cruz has 973,537 vehicles, followed by La Paz (597,239) and Cochabamba (556,256), while Pando has 11,408.
- Private vehicles make up 93.7% of the total, public ones 4.8% and official ones 1.5%, and motorcycles (931,205), SUVs and station wagons (664,126) and cars (389,974) are the largest classes.
- In 2025, 1,025,516 vehicles had engines of 1,401 to 2,500 cc, and models from 2021 to 2025 (504,770) already outnumbered those from 2016 to 2020 (495,317) and from 2011 to 2015 (473,102).
- CNG conversions totaled 246,420 between 2010 and 2025, peaking at 34,359 in 2013 and falling to 2,191 in 2020, and they are concentrated in Santa Cruz (77,115), La Paz (71,514) and Cochabamba (62,997).
Choosing a year, a vehicle type or a department updates the indicators and charts, the timeline lets the year be changed with a click, and each vehicle class filters engine displacement and model year. The dashboard was originally designed in Power BI, with its data model, DAX measures and Power Query transformations, and this web version keeps its structure with the data updated to 2025.
